Win Place Home, Inc. (WPH) is a California registered, IRS approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which offers former racehorses a good home where their transition will be smooth and calm, giving them a confident trust to move forward in life. We have created a place of rescue to rehabilitate and retrain these thoroughbreds leading to active careers.

Win Place Home’s primary goal is to help off-track Thoroughbreds transition safely from racing into meaningful second careers and lifelong homes. Through rehabilitation, retraining, and thoughtful adoption placement, we repurpose each horse as a confident, capable partner in a new discipline while helping change the way people view Thoroughbreds; not as high-strung or untrainable, but as intelligent, willing, and resilient horses with a deep capacity to learn, connect, and give back.

Through our Healing with Horses program, our objectives have expanded to include the healing that horses can offer people. By providing somatic sessions, Reiki healing, and group clinics centered on nervous system regulation, emotional wellness, confidence, and community connection, we create a model of mutual healing where both horses and people can move forward with greater safety, trust, and connection.

While there are potential owners and individuals who possess the necessary amount of time and patience, most do not seek out these types of horses as prospects in their discipline. The people adopting horses from WPH won’t need to have experience with off-track thoroughbreds to aid their transition. Through our knowledge of not only racing thoroughbreds but other disciplines, we can offer these horses the training that will help them succeed.
