Volunteer FAQ’s

  1. What experience do I need to volunteer?

You don’t need any! We have tasks for all levels and appreciate any and all help. While here you will learn more and more about the horses and how to be around them.

  2. Is there a schedule for volunteers?

We work everyday from 8am until about 1pm. We are very flexible and work with each volunteer on what is convenient for them in that time frame. Even if you can only come once a month, we are grateful for the help.

  3. What is the dress code?

Long pants and closed toed shoes are best. Anything that you don’t mind getting dirty!

  4. What is expected of a Win Place Home volunteer?

We ask all of our volunteers to just try their best, stay alert, and always put the horses first. We encourage questions and ask that you be open minded about how we do tasks here, as they may be different than other barns.

  5. Will I get to ride?

All Win Place Home horses are in training getting ready for their second career and new home. While we do allow some volunteers to ride occasionally, it’s not common. However there is an opportunity to learn horsemanship and ground work if so desired.
